The ‘Akhand Deep’ (Eternal Lamp) at Urjaa Dham, sacredly nestled beneath the Peepal tree—also revered as ‘Ashvattha’, the divine “tree of gods”—is a potent symbol of unbroken spiritual light and protection. This lamp, ueled continuously by mustard oil, signifies an eternal flame of divine presence that wards off darkness and negative energies without pause. Shielded by a glass and iron frame, it withstands wind and rain, preserving its sacred flame as a beacon of unwavering faith.
What amplifies the sanctity and power of this lamp is rooted in ancient Hindu tradition. The mustard oil used to light the ‘Akhand Deep’ is especially sacred, as it is the preferred offering to Lord Shani, the cosmic protector who dissolves malevolent glances and evil forces. The lamp’s location in the South—a direction governed by Lord Shani and Rahu—adds further spiritual potency. Moreover, the Peepal tree under which the lamp burns is itself a divine embodiment: its roots, trunk, and leaves represent Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, linking the lamp to the fundamental forces of creation and cosmic wisdom.
The black residue, called ‘Kazal’ or ‘Nazar Vinashak Tilak’, gathered from the lamp’s flame, is considered immensely auspicious. This Tilak serves as a powerful talisman to shield devotees, especially vulnerable infants and those afflicted by dark energies or the evil eye (Nazar Dosh). Its energy is magnified by five sacred factors—mustard oil, direction, the Peepal’s silent witness, continual fire, and collective devotion—making it a rare blessing in spiritual protection
