PANCHMUKHI KUTIR

Five-Faced Protector to Patal Dwar

Panch Mukhi Kutir, the fierce five-faced Hanuman Ji, embodying divine power, courage, and wisdom; vigilantly guards the south-facing gateway to Patal, blending sacred energy with potent rituals to protect cosmic balance.

At Urjaa Dham, opposite ‘Shivalaya’, the majestic Panch Mukhi Kutir enshrines the extraordinary idol of Panch Mukhi Hanuman Ji, the five-faced embodiment of divine power, courage, and wisdom. This sacred idol, bathed in a potent blend of Ghee, Chameli oil, and vibrant orange Sindoor, faces southwards, eternally vigilant at the gateway of ‘Patal’, guarding cosmic balance with fierce devotion.

Panch Mukhi Hanuman Ji, the ‘Rudra Avatar’ of Lord Shiva, is not just a deity but a symbol of supreme courage, boundless fearlessness, and profound intelligence. During the epic Ramayana, Hanuman Ji assumed this five-faced form, each face a divine force, to simultaneously extinguish five mystical lamps that guarded the demon ‘Ahiravana’s lair in ‘Patal’. This heroic act rescued Lord Ram and Lakshman, underscoring the fierce, protective nature of the ‘Panch Mukhi’ form, known as the fiercest ‘Ugra’ avatar.

Each face of this glorious manifestation carries profound symbolism, like the east-faced Hanuman represents courage, devotion, and selflessness; the south-faced ‘Narasimha’ symbolizes protection, fearlessness, and victory over enemies; the west-faced ‘Garuda’ stands for strength and the power to remove obstacles like poison or black magic; the north-faced ‘Varaha’ signifies stability, wealth, and prosperity and the sky-faced ‘Hayagriva’ is known for wisdom, knowledge, and triumph over ignorance.

Facing south—the doorway to ‘Patal’, this deity wards off uninvited energies, safeguarding universal harmony. Known here as ‘Dakhan Mukhi’, Panch Mukhi Hanuman undergoes sacred worship through the powerful ‘Chola’ ritual every Tuesday and Saturday. The sanctified ‘Cholla’, deemed potent spiritual medicine, is distributed to devotees confronting mysterious disturbances, reflecting the living power and relentless grace of this divine protector.
